The Day 1 Credit

If you or your kids can't stand up on a board by dinner on Day 1, you receive a 100% credit toward any future Velocity Wake week. No questions.

The Weather Pledge

We guarantee at least 5 rideable days. If weather cancels more than 2 days, you receive a 50% credit toward a future week. Lagos averages 300 days of sun.

The "Not For You" Audit

If you arrive and feel this isn't what you expected, tell us by dinner on Day 1. We'll issue a full credit minus hard costs. We'd rather you come back than leave disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely not. Most of our founding guests have never been on a wake boat. Our coaching is tailored to your specific level — from standing up for the first time to perfecting technical maneuvers. The MasterCraft XT22's wave system makes learning dramatically easier than anything you've tried before.

Solo travelers are welcome. You can book a private room or opt for a shared room rate if you're open to sharing with another guest of the same gender. The communal villa environment makes it easy to connect. Most guests tell us the group dynamic is one of the best parts of the week.

No. You are responsible for your flights to Faro (FAO). There are 4 direct weekly flights from Newark (EWR), about 7 hours. We handle Mercedes airport transfers from Faro to the villa on both arrival and departure days.

Yes. Non-riding partners are welcome at a reduced rate. They get full access to the villa, meals, pool, excursions, and social events — just no boat time. Kids are welcome on the boat at all skill levels. The towable donut is a hit with families.

Everything except flights and personal shopping. That means: private villa accommodation, daily boat sessions with coaching, all meals (chef-prepared breakfast, brunch, dinner — except Wednesday), wine pairings, airport transfers, excursions, massage sessions, all equipment, and video content. You land in Faro. We handle the rest.

Yes. Private buyouts are available for groups of 6-10. You get the full villa, the boat, the chef, and the coaching team exclusively for your group. Common for families, friend groups, and corporate retreats. Pricing depends on the week and group size — reach out and we'll build a custom package.

Fair question. Velocity Wake is a registered Portuguese company (Lda.). The founder has nearly two decades in luxury hospitality with a junior sommelier certification. Our equipment partnerships with MasterCraft, Ronix, and Hyperlite are real and verifiable. Your 60% deposit is held in a Portuguese business account with full legal protection. And if you arrive and it's not what we promised, our Day 1 guarantee means you can walk away with a full credit minus hard costs.

The Algarve has 300+ days of sunshine annually. We operate April-October during the most stable weather window. On rare days conditions aren't ideal for wake sports, we pivot to alternative activities: coastal tours, winery visits, SUP sessions, or villa time. Every week includes one intentional rest day (Wednesday) regardless of weather. If weather significantly impacts your week, we work with you on solutions.

Deposits are non-refundable but transferable to another week or person. If you need to cancel, you can transfer your reservation to someone else or move to a different 2026 week (subject to availability). We strongly recommend travel insurance for added protection against unforeseen circumstances.
